About Kerry Bowler
Following a further education in art, Kerry has worked as a full-time artist for over 10 years and her works are becoming increasingly in demand, being highly sought after by private collectors and renowned interior designers. She works from her dedicated studio in the market town of Skipton, North Yorkshire.
Specialising in modern, contemporary large scale abstract paintings, Kerry particularly loves to experiment with different textures and their inter-play with colour. Frequently infusing her paintings with metallic tones she finds it fascinating how these interact with the light source, changing the viewer’s experience in response to the angle of approach and the time of day.
Kerry’s inspiration is drawn from the beautiful North Yorkshire dales and moors that surround her studio, as well as her love for the calming effect of water and the sea. Every original Kerry Bowler painting is unique whilst possessing her hallmark personality and style. Kerry likes to create abstract art where the eye can read as little or as much into it as is wanted by the viewer. Her works are subtle, uncomplicated yet sophisticated, minimalistic yet profound, which is a reflection of Kerry’s calm nature coming through in her paintings.
To date, most of Kerry’s paintings have been done as commissions and mostly for private collectors although she has also got national representation with galleries and has held highly successful solo exhibitions.
